An election contest will be required for the Science and Engineering position. An external provider, Civica Election Services (CES) will conduct the voting, which will be conducted entirely online.

Voting will open on 8 December, and close on 21 December 2020. The Senate will be invited to confirm the appointment of the successful candidate at the conclusion of the election.

On 8 December, all eligible members of staff will receive a direct e-mail from takepart@cesvotes.com with links to a secure voting page and instructions for access. Voters will be asked to rank the candidates in order of preference. In line with the Ordinances, the election is conducted using the Single Transferable Vote.

When voting, please take your time to choose between the candidates. The candidates have provided supporting statements to help inform decision-making. These statements will be available to view on the voting page (via the link in your e-mail from cesvotes.com) and also via the table displayed above on this page.

The voting process is secure and safe. Every colleague who is eligible to vote will have unique security codes with which to access the voting site. Colleagues will be able to vote once. After the close of voting, the votes will be tallied by CES and the results passed to the Corporate Governance Team for publishing.

The successful candidate will take office from 1 January 2021 and will serve for a three-year term of office.
