Development of a Cloud-based Knowledge Brokering Platform for Managing Construction Claims
Claims is a key facet in construction industry which, if not managed properly, can lead to conflicts and disputes. Studies have shown that most of the claims can be managed if the stakeholders are properly and adequately informed of processes and subsequent consequences. The primary concern for project stakeholders is the availability of expert knowledge at the right time and right place. The current digital age facilitates access of information across boundaries and time through cloud computing. Knowledge brokering in construction industry is still at a nascent stage. The current research looks at developing a cloud-based knowledge brokering system to manage claims. The proposed system will endeavour to bridge the availability of knowledge by bringing together experts and end users across various domains on a single platform and further improve the process of claims management.
