Sea Superhero Competition
2018 is the Heriot-Watt Year of the Sea, celebrating the amazing wonders of the oceans! Throughout the year, there will activities and events to share our research, inspire wonder and ignite curiosity.
We are searching for a superhero for the Year of the Sea - to explore the deep, solving the mysteries of the unknown, and working out how we can protect our seas from the threats they face!
The winners will receive a special visit to the underwater exploration zones at Heriot-Watt University, as well as a special comic featuring their superhero!
The competition is designed for primary schools, but any primary age child in Scotland can enter. For schools, we asked teachers to shortlist their top entries, which will then be viewed by our panel of judges to choose the winners.
The small print:
- Open to all primary school age children in Scotland.
- There will be winners in 3 age groups (4-6, 7-9, 10-12)
- Must be hand-drawn
- Email to HWEngage@hw.ac.uk, or post to: HW Engage, Research & Enterprise Services, Scott Russell Building, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, EH14 4AS
The competition closed in January 2018, and winners will be announced in March.
