The quality of Heriot-Watt’s Business Management Graduate Apprenticeship programme has been endorsed by independent accreditation from the Chartered Management Institute.

We’re delighted to announce that our Business Management Graduate Apprenticeship (GA) programme has been accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the chartered body for management and leadership in the UK.

On successful completion of the MA (Hons) GA programme, students will also be awarded the Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership by the CMI. The Level 5 Diploma accreditation is the highest possible award for a GA programme and is also the first step toward chartered status. According to the CMI our programme ‘…meets the rigorous quality standards to achieve CMI Accreditation’.

This additional professional qualification enhances the employability of students. Furthermore, for the duration of their studies, students will have affiliate membership of the CMI, which provides access to a wide range of professional learning resources, the CMI Career Development Centre and access to CMI hosted webinars and networking opportunities.

Dr David Steinberg, EBS Director of GA Programmes, commented: “CMI accreditation is a tribute to our GA faculty and their dedication to the GA student experience.” Established in 1947, the CMI was founded to raise the quality and standard of management in the workplace. The CMI developed the very first diploma in management studies.

As well as the new CMI accreditation, the University is also ranked top quartile in the UK for Business and Management (source: Complete University Guide 2022). If you’d like to find out more about our Business Management GA programme, please contact the team by emailing ga@hw.ac.uk.
