The University is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Ted Henry as the Interim Deputy Provost at HWUM

The University is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Ted Henry as the Interim Deputy Provost at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM).

Professor Henry brings an impressive track record in innovative teaching, academic leadership, and a background of delivering groundbreaking research within environmental science and toxicology, particularly in tropical ecosystems.

Throughout his career, Professor Henry has maintained a deep commitment to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and his work often overlaps with crucial areas of sustainability, such as climate change, sustainable energy, and social equity.

During his tenure as the interim Executive Dean of EGIS, Professor Henry prioritised creating opportunities for our students to Go Global and always sought out ways to increase the global mobility of those within the school. He also played a pivotal role in streamlining operations across all HWU campuses within his school.

HWU Malaysia is a special place and a jewel in the offer provided by our university. Serving on the senior management team of EGIS over the last six years has given me a broad perspective on the management of staff and students across a diverse academic portfolio. I hope to use this experience to further enhance our globally connected learning and research community from Malaysia. Research will be a top priority for me in this role, and I am looking for new ways to support cross-disciplinary projects that leverage the diverse skills of our staff and our global footprint. I am extremely pleased to have been given this next opportunity in my career and look forward to working with all of you across the university.
