Low Carbon Futures Event

A dissemination event for the Low Carbon Futures project

Tuesday 10 September 2013

The aim of the Low Carbon Futures (LCF) project has been to produce a practical, designer-orientated method for adapting existing and new buildings to future climates based on the 2009 UK Climate Projections (UKCP'09). This dissemination event will present the findings of the project within the following areas:

  1. Climate change and building adaptation
  2. Opinions of building design professionals
  3. The LCF tool – designing buildings in future climates

The event is intended for a wide range of building professionals and policy-makers, including architects, engineers, consultants, local authorities, and government.

An essential event for anyone interested in low carbon buildings, adapting to future climates and collaboration between industry and academia, to ensure a sustainable built environment.

The Low Carbon Futures project was within the overarching Adaptation & Resilience to Climate Change Coordination Network (ARCC CN).

This network brings together researchers and stakeholders involved in a range of projects funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, focusing on adaptation in the built environment and infrastructure sectors. The network facilitates engagement and knowledge exchange activities across the projects to maximise and accelerate the dissemination, use and impact of the research outputs.
