Research Centre for Social and Economic Data Analytics (CSEDA)
The Centre for Social and Economic Data Analytics (CSEDA) brings together empirical and data-driven quantitative research across the full range of business and economic studies. Much of the Centre’s activity is organised within four focused research groupings: the Energy Markets Group (EMG), the Quantitative Methods Lab (QML), the Centre for Finance & Investment (CFI) and the Marketing Analytics Group (MAG). Other CSEDA active research areas include macroeconomics, monetary policy, international finance, corporate governance, behavioural science and labour markets.

"Professor Mark Schaffer is the Head of CSEDA. Mark attained his PhD in Economics from London School of Economics and has been a member of Heriot-Watt University’s Department of Economics since 1995. His fields of interest include applied econometrics, labour markets, and economic history. Mark has worked as a consultant for organisations including the World Bank, the United Nations, and the Department of International Development of the UK Government. "
