Dr Shannon Caitlin Harris
Assistant Professor in Strategy & Enterprise
Dr Shannon Harris is an Assistant Professor in Strategy and Enterprise within the Department of Management in Edinburgh Business School. Shannon has a research background in the socio-cultural and religious contexts of entrepreneurship. She has been invited to present her work both nationally and internationally including recently at a Journal of Management Studies paper development workshop where the submission, “Externalising the Locus of Control: Religion and Entrepreneurship” won the award for best paper.
Shannon is currently PI on the ISBE funded project, Dream of the Dram: Entrepreneurial Placemaking in the Scottish Whisky Industry with colleagues from Heriot-Watt. This project explores the rural nature of many Scottish whisky distilleries, and the role entrepreneurs play in creating a sense of place and community resilience.

Background
Prior to joining Heriot Watt, Shannon worked at the universities of Strathclyde and Glasgow as an Adjunct Lecturer teaching management and enterprise subjects. Shannon's experience encompasses work the the Prince's Trust and Glasgow City Council supporting projects focused on community entrepreneurship and community wealth building.
