Dr Marlene Muller
Associate Professor in Leadership | Academic Head: Business, Management & Enterprise.
Dr. Marlene Muller is the Academic Head in Business, Management, and Enterprise at Edinburgh Business School, Dubai Campus. Her core responsibilities are to manage all its business degree programs and to strengthen stakeholder collaborations and partnerships. With the establishment of Dubai’s very own Business Incubator, Marlene hopes to embed innovativeness within our everyday activities, conversations and curriculum. Within EBS, Marlene’s primary passion is to ensure a positive student experience by strengthening their skills in innovative thinking, leadership, and diversity management that will allow them to grow in confidence and succeed in the job market.
Firmly cemented within Africa and the Middle East, Marlene’s passion for education and empowerment are reflected in her diverse stories. Her research on followership encourages us to reclaim our own positionalities and values whilst moving away from detached leadership towards greater inclusion and authenticity.
Her current projects utilise design thinking and appreciative inquiry to improve our own digital experiences that shape both our current actions and future success stories.
As an Associate Professor in Leadership, much of Marlene's research is based on three key areas: Leader-Follower Relationships, Change Management and Employee Experiences, as influenced by HR value chains, experiential journeys, and pseudo leadership. Her keen interest in everything digital steers her towards our own digital environments, centred around human centricity and inclusion.
