Cameron McMorran

Teaching Assistant

Cameron is a graduate teaching assistant within the Edinburgh Business School and assists in the delivery of Scientific Research Methods. He is currently undertaking his PhD in management where he is researching the “leaky pipeline” and factors which drive inequality, gender disparity and academic dropout within higher business education. Cameron recently graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in Physical Activity and Health where he received the university medal at graduation for outstanding achievement within his field. 

During his time at Napier, Cameron aided in the development of a physical activity for mental health referral programme, working with the universities in-house counselling service to aid students suffering from mild-moderate mental health issues. Cameron worked on the programme as both a practitioner and researcher, designing and delivering individualised training programmes supplemented with motivational interviewing counselling sessions, whilst studying the effects of structured exercise programmes on students mental and physical well-being.

Background

Cameron has an extensive background in sport coaching and has spent considerable time developing his own coaching abilities and studying the impacts of coaching and training practices, specifically Early Sport Specialisation and Sport Sampling.
