Dr Atanas Christev

Assistant Professor of Economics

Atanas's research focuses mainly on expectations, learning and rationality in macroeconomics, and applied econometrics. He works at the intersection of Bayesian statistics and economic sciences, with special emphasis on labour economics and macroeconomics. He currently researches and develops new Bayesian methods that enable asymptotically valid frequentist inference for certain classes of generalized method of moments estimation in problems emanating from widespread (typically non-likelihood-based) objective functions, which are widely applicable in dynamic models. In addition, he has worked on models of firm adjustment in transition, including asymmetric adjustment costs, wage mobility and dynamic monopsony models.
