I have a long experience in maritime container shipping as I had worked for the United Arab Shipping Company for 25 years, becoming Senior Pricing Manager for the Middle East Region trade managementdepartment. From July 2017 I joined a consultancy firm, Common Sense Management Consultants, as COO, member of the Executive Management responsible for Trade Operations and related activities.
From 2015 till 2017, I studied at the what was then the School of Management and Languages, Heriot-Watt University, Dubai, UAE, and obtained my two master's degrees. First, in 2016 I obtained an MSc in Strategic Project Management (awarded with Distinction), and my dissertation was entitled "Mega Ships Strategic Decision and their Impact on Company Performance: A case study of United Arab Shipping Company (UASC)". My second master's degree, and MSc in Operations Management, was obtained in 2017, and my dissertation was entitled "ERP Implementation and its Impact on Company Performance: A case study of UASC". My two dissertations were concentrated on the field of maritime liner shipping, the first being focused on the container shipping industry and the impact of the mega-ships on the containerliner market in general and UASC’s performance in particular. My second dissertation focused on theimpact of ERP implementation on a company’s performance. My PhD topic is the digitalization of lean six sigma in the shipping industry.
