Elena Shevchenko

Elena Shevchenko is a Doctoral Researcher in Business Management at Edinburgh Business School. Her doctoral research is focused on the issues of consumer engagement in social media networks and is supervised by Dr Paul J. Hopkinson and Dr Kathryn Waite.

Before moving into academia, Elena worked as a marketing professional in hospitality and higher education in Dubai. Elena has also worked as part-time faculty delivering and designing MBA, MSc, and undergraduate courses for several universities in the United Arab Emirates.  

Driven by an interest in experimental research methods, she has conducted an online experimental study of consumer social media content preferences, and a research project on integrated communications in hotels (funded by Erasmus Mundus, and hosted by the University of Trento in Italy).
