She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
She has about 23 years of experience in Banking spanning Banking Operations, Credit, Internal Audit and Control and Risk Management. Her audit coverage spanned across West, Central, East and South African Countries. She is also an approved tutor for Edinburgh business school, HWU.
Adenike is a Doctoral Research Student from the University, where she is exploring Risk Management (RM) Practices among SMEs in Nigeria. Given the strategic contribution of SMEs to economic development and their susceptibility to risks, a more active RM practice is increasingly seen as critical to their success and survival. The study explores how SMEs in Nigeria perceive and practice risk management and the extent to which SME owners and managers attribute their business success to RM practices. The research can contribute to the literature on RM in SMEs from Nigeria's perspective, given the scant research in this area especially in developing economies. It could provide insight into how SMEs can improve their awareness, understanding and attitude to risk. Similarly, it could contribute by making recommendations to policymakers on how to support SME growth and development through RM considerations.
