Physics Open Days

We welcome you to engage with the department during University open days visits and virtual events to find out about our facilities, teaching, and to meet the academic staff.

Resources for Teachers

We are pleased to be able to offer support for Advanced Higher pupils for practical investigation via our School's Laboratory.

We also run a schools lecture series in which we visit your class to talk about various topics in physics including Astrophysics, Bio-photonics, and Plasma physics.

We have developed class based activities in optics.  Find out how to build your own spectrometer and pinhole camera.

Outreach Activities

We organise a wide range of schools workshops that we run for a wide range of age groups.  Many of these are arranged to run in our own laboratories, but we also attend external events. Our workshops are designed to include hands-on activities exploring light, magnetism, electronics, and cryogenics.
