What is Go Global?
Go Global is our student mobility programme, allowing you to seamlessly transfer your studies to one of our global campuses. You can study in one of our unique campuses in the UK, Dubai or Malaysia for a semester or longer*. Whatever works best for you. *Subject to the degree programme running at your chosen campus.
What support will I receive?
We provide Go Global students with end-to-end support, from reminding you about application dates and deadlines, to a visa checking and processing service. We also offer cultural awareness sessions and pre-departure briefings to ensure you know exactly what to expect.
Why is Go Global different?
Go Global means you can still attend Heriot-Watt University, just in a different country. This means you will get all the benefits of studying abroad, including the same high standard of teaching, a robust student support system and a seamless transition between campuses without having to worry about catching up on any coursework or assessments once you’re back.
How do I apply?
Head to your programme page online and look for the Go Global banner, it will list what campuses you can go to. Use the search bar on the UK, Dubai or Malaysia home pages to find your programme and ensure the course content matches your expectations. If you’re not sure, reach out to your relevant academics.
My most memorable moments of Go Global would be experiencing the culture and working alongside many different people from a range of backgrounds. It helped me grow as an individual as well as within my work. Being in Malaysia opened my eyes and provided me with the opportunity to travel elsewhere in Asia, finding confidence in myself to travel and meet likeminded individuals, gaining a close group of friends as a result.

One of my favourite and most memorable experiences as a Heriot-Watt student was spending a semester at the Dubai campus through the Go Global programme. The opportunity to study abroad introduced me to new cultures, new ways of thinking, and an inspiring international community of students and staff. It was a transformative experience and one that I’ll always look back on fondly.
