The Engineering Physics programme at Heriot-Watt delivered an interesting and diverse learning experience that was relevant to helping me achieve my long-term career goals. As I was always interested in joining the RAF, I became a member of the East of Scotland Universities Air Squadron (ESUAS). This provided an insight into the life of RAF personnel, while learning to fly confirmed my aspirations to become a pilot.

 All of my lecturers actively promoted an open door policy, which along with small class sizes in the specialised modules in the later years, gave me confidence and support. Through this I was able to balance my studies, social commitments and key leadership roles in ESUAS, resulting in a well-rounded and exciting university experience.
