Minu Mathews

About

Dr Mathews is the Programme Director of the undergraduate Psychology programmes (B.Sc. Psychology and B.Sc. Psychology with Management), teaching several courses within these programmes. She is the Global Course Coordinator of the Research Methods and Analysis 2 course.  

Her area of expertise is in Health Psychology and she’s part of the global teaching team for Health Psychology, Psychology of Education and Research Methods, and Analysis 5. Dr. Mathews will be also supervising new PHD students starting September 2022.

Biography

Dr. Mathews received her PhD from the University of Leeds, UK, in 2012. Her PhD thesis was titled: The Job Demands Resources Model of Burnout: A Cross-Cultural Comparison between India and the UK. She joined Heriot Watt University in 2013 and has been teaching full time since.  

Research

With expertise in Health Psychology her research explores the impact of stress on health, work and well-being; the factors that predict health behaviours and cross-cultural factors that influence burnout.
