Nermin Elwakad is a part-time instructor at Heriot-Watt University Dubai’s School of Textile & Design, where she teaches undergraduate students in the Interior Architecture Design programme.

Specialising in healthcare facilities and interior built environments, Nermin brings a wealth of knowledge in interior design, project management, research, and academic teaching.

With over 12 years of professional experience as an interior architecture designer and project manager, Nermin equips students with practical insights and innovative thinking, guiding them to excel in their creative journey and shape the future of interior design.

  • Bachelor’s degree of Interior Architecture Design
    Alexandria University, Egypt.
  • Master degree of Interior Architecture Design

  • Pursuing PhD Degree of Interior Architecture Design
    University of Antwerp, Belgium.
Research

Nermin’s research areas of interest focus on creating healing environments, humanising hospital interior spaces, and employing supportive design to enhance occupants' health and well-being, sustainably.
