About

Shirin, BBA (Hons), MBA, is an Associate Professor of Finance, the Global Director of MBA Programmes, Senior Director of Studies for the MBA Programme, and the MBA Programme Director in Dubai for Edinburgh Business School at Heriot‐Watt University Dubai.

Shirin has the responsibility of overseeing the MBA programmes globally. She is the Senior Director of Studies for the MBA Programme and leads the academic operation and offerings of the MBA programme across the various modes of study and locations.

Biography

In Dubai, along with her team she has established the Edinburgh Business School’s MBA programme offering at Dubai Campus in 2007. She has since overseen the academic and operational delivery of the MBA programme in both pathways; the part-time MBA since the start in 2007, and the full-time MBA programme since 2011.  

Shirin teaches on the Finance and Accounting subjects as well as the Entrepreneurship and Creativity course on the MBA programme. She has also been on panels of many business competitions, judging and providing feedback to competing students on their business ideas, business plans and pitches. She has been an academic mentor for the MBA students too competing on prestigious global competitions. 

She is a member of the Senior Leadership Team of Edinburgh Business School, the Learning and Teaching group, the School Studies Committee and various other academic and operational committees within Edinburgh Business School, the School of Social Sciences and the Heriot-Watt University Dubai Campus.

Shirin has been an academic contributing to the Edinburgh Business School and Heriot-Watt University’s in her various roles since 2007. Prior to that Shirin was in a professional business career having worked for several years as a Commercial Manager for internationally well-known brands like the BMW AG, LandRover, Samsung home appliances and other European industrial machinery manufacturers in the Middle East region.
