Research

Dr Nasir's recent research interests are in the field of further valorisation of lignin residue (biorefinery byproduct). One of these interests is the production of functionalised materials (e.g. catalysts; nanotubes) from lignin for energy, environmental and pharmaceutical applications.

He has worked with Institute of Chemical and Engineering Sciences (ICES) on the production of catalysts from lignin through conventional and novel (ultrasound, microwave) methods. ICES is part of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), which is the lead agency for fostering world-class scientific research in Singapore.
