External Institutional Review

All Scottish higher education institutions are subject to a periodic, external institutional review conducted by the Quality Assurance Agency Scotland (QAAS) on behalf of the Scottish Funding Council.

The most recent review took place on the 29 and 30 April 2024, as part of the new Quality Enhancement and Standards Review process. The review, carried out by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), expressed confidence in Heriot-Watt University's progress in continuing to monitor, review and enhance its higher education provision to enable effective arrangements to be in place for managing academic standards and the quality of the student experience.
