 *Students who maintain Grade A/70% average in Foundation are awarded with a 35% scholarship when progressing into undergraduate study.

*Students and non-scholarship holders who maintain Grade A/70% average in undergraduate study will be awarded with a 35% scholarship during progressing into following year of the undergraduate study.

Financial Hardship Scholarships
For Malaysian students who are eligible for High Acheiver's Scholarship (HAS) only. Scholarships with a fee waiver of 50% or 100% off total tuition fees are available for high achieving Malaysian students who have proof of financial hardship. The scholarships are available for students pursuing both Foundation and Undergraduate studies.
Students applying for the scholarship should have the following before going through an interview for a panel assessment:
  • Excellent academic results (min. eligible for HAS)
  • Proof of financial hardship

Petroleum Engineering Year of the Sea Postgraduate Scholarship
To celebrate the oil and gas industry’s contribution towards sustainable development, and in conjunction with our Year of the Sea, Heriot-Watt University Malaysia is offering scholarships to undergraduates and industry professionals enrolling on to the MSc in Petroleum Engineering in 2018. Students applying to the September 2018 intake would be granted a 25% tuition fees waiver.
Heriot-Watt Alumni Waiver
(For Postgraduate Studies only) A fee waiver of 20% is granted to alumni of Heriot-Watt University who register for postgraduate programmes of study at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. This discount does not apply to the MBA programme and is awarded on receipt of documentary evidence of an undergraduate or postgraduate award from Heriot-Watt University.
Family Discount
(For Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies) A discount of 10% is granted to children and/or spouse of a Heriot-Watt University alumni who register for a programme of study at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. This discount is also granted to siblings of currently registered students of Heriot-Watt University Malaysia who register for a programme of study at the University. This discount does not apply to the MBA programme and is awarded on receipt of documentary evidence proving the relationship of the registered applicant and the alumnus or student.
Heriot-Watt Corporate Partnership Postgraduate Bursary 2018
The Heriot-Watt Corporate Postgraduate Partnership Bursary 2018 is a concession package for students who are applying to our postgraduate programmes in a group of more than 1 from the same company. This is applicable for local, international, part-time or full-time students.
 
How does it work?
  • Up to 3 employees of the same organisation enrolling for any postgraduate programme within the same intake will be entitled for a 25% reduction of fees for all.
  • 4 employees and above of the same organisation enrolling for any postgraduate programme within the same intake will increase the reduction of fees to be 30% for all.

Women in Engineering Scholarship
 
Founded in 1821, we were the first Mechanics’ Institute in the world. We were also the first institution in Scotland to admit women into STEM programmes. Since opening our doors in Malaysia, we’ve made it possible for women in ASEAN region to gain access to quality teaching and learning in the field of Engineering. Committed to widening access, and reducing the gender gap in this field, we have developed this scholarship especially for girls who want to pursue a career in Engineering.
 
Applications are open for the following programmes:
  • MEng Chemical Engineering with Oil and Gas Technology
  • MEng Mechanical Engineering
  • MEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • MEng Civil Engineering
  • MEng Petroleum Engineering

The scholarship is for 100% or 50% of tuition fees at the Malaysia campus.

Selection criteria:

This scholarship is open to female students with academic results of at least 2As and 1B in relevant subjects in their A-Levels with a strong passion to pursue Engineering. Application will be assessed based on the applicant's academic achievements, involvement in extra-curricular activities and leadership roles. Applicants will also need to include a personal statement (of 500 words) stating:

  • Your interest in the Engineering field of choice and why
  • Future career aspirations

An interview will be held with the selection committee consisting of representatives from the University on 17 August 2018.

Heriot-Watt - Velesto Petroleum Engineering Scholarship
Heriot-Watt University and Velesto Energy
Since 1974, Heriot-Watt University through its Institute of Petroleum Engineering has contributed towards the advancement of petroleum engineering through its research, consultation and development of sought after graduates by the industry. These contributions has enabled the institute to receive the prestigious Queen's Anniversary Prize in 2015. Committed to work with industry partners to produce industry-relevant and well-rounded graduates, we have developed this scholarship together with Velesto Sdn Bhd (formerly known as UMW Oil and Gas) especially for those who want to pursue a career in Petroleum Engineering.  Velesto shares Heriot-Watt’s vision to continue building quality human capital in this industry and together shape the future of Malaysia’s economy. 
Applications are open for our undergraduate MEng Petroleum Engineering programme (4 years) for the following intakes: 
  • September 2018 intake
  • January 2019 intake 

The scholarship is for 100% or 50% of tuition fees at the Malaysia campus.

Selection criteria:

This scholarship is open to students with academic results of at least 2As and 1B in relevant subjects in their A-Levels with a strong passion to pursue Engineering. Inaugural Statistical Modelling Scholarship
Malaysia aims to produce 16,000 data professionals by 2020. Heriot-Watt aims to meet this demand with the introduction of our BSc (Hons) Statistical Modelling* programme. We invite students to apply for our Inaugural scholarships worth 100% or 50% to enter into our September 2018 intake. 
Selection Criteria:
For 100% award
  • A Levels/STPM: AAA with A in Mathematics 
  • WACE: ATAR 95 with 80% in Mathematics
  • SACE: ATAR 95 with 17.0 in Mathematics
  • UEC: 6A with 4A1 (with A1 in Maths and Advanced Maths) 
  • HWUM Foundation in Science/Business: AABB with A in Mathematics

For 50% award

  • A Levels/STPM: AAB with A in Mathematics
  • WACE: ATAR 90 with 80% in Mathematics
  • SACE: ATAR 90 with 17.0 in Mathematics
  • UEC: 6A with A1 in Maths and Advanced Maths
  • HWUM Foundation in Science/Business: ABBC with A in Mathematics 

Applicants will be shortlisted by a selection panel based on their academic results and a personal 500 word statement. Aside from academic merit, scholars will be chosen based on their leadership potential.
