Application, selection and admission

Applicants are assessed on their individual merits both academic and personal. Full details can be found in the Heriot-Watt University Admissions Policy. Disability is designated a ‘protected characteristic' by the Equality Act 2010 and applicants cannot be treated unfairly due to their disability.

If you decide to apply to Heriot-Watt we strongly encourage you to disclose your disability in your application. Provided you do this, the Disability Service will contact you before the start of your studies. We then provide you with information on requirements for supporting evidence and the types of support available including eligibility for Disabled Students' Allowance (for eligible UK-based students only).

It can take some time to arrange support. The sooner we know about your disability the sooner we can begin to organise any support you may need.
