What did you do prior to starting at Heriot-Watt?

I gained a BSc (Hons) in Earth Science from the University of Glasgow.

What have you done since graduating from Heriot-Watt?

I have been working with Neftex Petroleum Consultants Ltd. They are a consultancy company in the petroleum industry, specialising in sequence stratigraphy products.

What made you choose your course?

It's based in an engineering department so many of the staff have different backgrounds to the standard MSc Geoscience courses making the course unique. It is also a relatively new course so the taught modules are all relevant to current and future activities in industry.

What has been the most useful or enjoyable aspect of your course?

My placement in industry for my dissertation.

How has the course helped your career and professional development?

I wouldn't have got the job I'm in now if I didn't have my masters degree. It really focussed my geoscience knowledge towards a career in the petroleum industry.

What have you enjoyed the most about studying here?

The range of nationalities and backgrounds of people you get to meet and work with.
