Dubai
Dubai Student Services Centre (DSSC)
If you have any queries before or after you arrive in Dubai, the Dubai Student Services Centre (DSSC) is available to help you with information and assistance. The DSSC can be reached by email (DubaiStudentServices@hw.ac.uk) or telephone (00 971 (0) 44358631).
Visa Office

Undergraduate tuition fees
Home or EU students studying at our UK campuses and transferring to Dubai should apply to their relevant funding body. Rest of UK (RUK) students will not normally be charged fees during a single year abroad.
Home, EU or RUK students applying for a second year abroad should apply to their funding body for fees. Students who cannot access funding from their funding body will normally be charged the Dubai campus tuition fee.
Overseas students studying at the UK campus pay fees to the Dubai campus.
Malaysia campus students transferring to the Dubai campus pay the International fee minus a 10% discount.
Accommodation
Check our student accommodation details including fees and terms and how to apply. Accommodation fees are paid upfront. Accommodation is based on-campus. Accommodation can also be provided off-campus at Etisalat Academy and Uninest. A transport service is available from the campus to the student accommodation (if required). Foreign and Commonwealth Office travel advice
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) provides foreign travel advice for the United Arab Emirates. This includes information on local laws and customs. The FCO also provides advice for LGBT travellers.

United Kingdom
Global Student Office (GSO) and visa support
Most inter-campus transfer students will require either a student route visa or a short-term study visa (for single-semester transfers).
The first stage of applying for a student route visa is to complete the below student route CAS evidence request form and to submit this to the Global Student Office at goglobal@hw.ac.uk
Please note you should not submit the form until after you have received your progression decision and a notification that your inter-campus transfer can proceed. This will normally be by early July.

Undergraduate tuition fees
Malaysia campus students transferring to the UK campus pay the international fee minus a 20% discount.
Dubai campus students transferring to the UK campus pay the international fee minus a 10% discount.
Accommodation
Edinburgh campus: On-campus student accommodation may be available but there is no guarantee of an offer. If you have any questions, please contact the Edinburgh campus On-campus Accommodation Officer at halls@hw.ac.uk or on +44 (0) 131 451 3385. The Accommodation Office also provides advice and support for accessing off-campus private accommodation.
Scottish Borders (Textiles and Design students): On-campus student accommodation is available. If you have any questions, please contact the Scottish Borders Accommodation Office at bordershalls@hw.ac.uk or on +44 (0)1896 892273.

Appendix 5.2 Commonwealth Countries - No Single Entry Visa or VOA is required.
The Malaysia immigration authority (EMGS) also has a very handy photo checker online. Students can use this software to verify if their passport photo is acceptable for a visa application.

Accommodation
Off-campus student accommodation options are provided in Cyberjaya and Putrajaya, which is about 10-15 minute drive from the Malaysia campus. Heriot-Watt University Malaysia directly manages its student accommodation at Kanvas SOHO while working closely with Ikhasas Group, a third party accommodation provider which manages additional accommodation options at Shaftsbury RYO Putrajaya and Shaftsbury Stellar Cyberjaya for its students.
