Deans’ Representatives

As per Regulation A5 Academic Decision Making Boards, Deans or their representatives - Deans’ Reps - are required to attend all undergraduate and postgraduate taught Award Boards* in order to monitor the operation of the board.

Deans’ reps are there to observe, provide guidance and confirm that:

  • There has been fair and consistent consideration of students
  • That the university and programme regulations have been followed

At the end of each award board, they are required to submit a Deans' Rep report.

Deans’ Reps are member of academic staff that are of Associate Dean level or other nominated representative, who should normally be a senior member of academic staff. Additionally, all chairs of exam boards are automatically considered as Deans Reps and are added to our active list of Deans' Reps.

More information can be found on the Deans’ Rep SharePoint site.

*A Deans’ Representative will also be allocated to attend Foundation Award Boards, and the Global College Exam Board at the end of Aktobe Year 1
