What We Do
The Strategic Futures Laboratory is a cross-disciplinary group particularly interested in human-centred machine learning, data interpretation and active visualisation. We are interested in:
- intuitive machine learning & data visualisation
- topic modelling and mapping
- expert meeting technologies
- human perception and mental models of large data sets
The Strategic Futures Laboratory has grown from the Texture Lab, a group looking at the psychophysics, light models, and machine analysis of 3D surface textures. We are now using these cross-disciplinary skills to investigate the human perception of large or complex data visualisation and analysis, always ensuring user perception is at the core of everything we do.
