With our Graduate Showcase launching this week, we caught up with some of our graduating students to find out more about their final year projects.

This Student Spotlight features BA (Hons) Design for Textiles student, Lauryn Hood and her project, Sunday Girl.

"Sunday Girl is a womenswear fashion and accessories collection centring around sustainability and versatility. Inspired by the 60s with a narrative theme I have created a collection of reversible and interchangeable garments. The subject matter comes from my own imagery from pictures taken travelling or my favourites things! Using hand drawn illustrations from my sketchbook I have developed these into placement and repeat prints to form the collection whilst using the combined textile methods of digital print, screen print and crochet."

"After the Graduate Showcase and graduation some of the Design for Textiles 4th years will be doing down to London to showcase our work at New Designers. This is a fantastic opportunity to make connections within the textiles industry and gain possible internships, jobs, or freelance work. I am really looking forward to attending this exhibition with my final year collection."
