Optical code based high speed secure optical Communication system

The information security is one of the biggest issues in telecommunication network and is receiving significant attentions worldwide. Optical communication systems form the backbone of the modern information society. Protect information security in optical communication system is one of the biggest challenges for the future communication network.  The project will investigate high speed (up to 100 Gbps) secure optical communication system based on optical code technology. Quantum technology will also be used. The project requires both theoretical and experimental investigations and the student has the opportunity to carry out experiments a world leading telecommunication labs in Japan and UK.  We will consider student with good undergraduate Physics or Electronic Engineering backgrounds, or related disciplines. Studentship is available for UK and EU citizens. The studentship will cover all tuition fees and offer an enhanced stipend for a full four years. Self-funded students from other countries are also welcome to apply.
