With our Graduate Showcase launching this week, we caught up with some of our graduating students to find out more about their final year projects.

This Student Spotlight features BA (Hons) Design for Textiles student, Hannah McIntyre and her project, Castle Gardens.

She explains to us that “joyful romantic blooms are explored in a contemporary painterly style inspired by the picturesque gardens & historic stately homes surrounding the Scottish Borders. This interiors collection celebrates my passion for floral design and painting, I use textural elements to capture the ageing beauty of period design whilst breathing freshness, modernity and originality with my expressive style.”

“In the future I would like to create a small collection of fabric & wallpaper designs that best reflect my painterly floral style, focusing on quality and consideration for the planet. Whilst, working in tandem on remote commissioned/trend prints to sell digitally on my website and to grow my network of clients and the Perry & Bloom brand name.”

You can see more of Hannah’s work at our Graduate Showcase between June 3-9 open to the public 10am-4pm at Heriot-Watt School of Textiles and Design, Nether Road, Galashiels.
