What appealed to you most about Heriot-Watt University?

The transfer programme and the standardized materials within the three campuses was the decisive factor for me.

What tips would you give to a student thinking of studying at Heriot-Watt?

Study, but don't forget to have fun. You'll need lots of coffee. Meet as many international friends as you can, as not everyone will have the opportunity.

What did you enjoy the most about studying your degree?

I love the fact that lecturers here do not literally only read out from the slides but they also teach you how to put the theories into practice through videos and their personal sharing with a lot of fun facts/ examples that develop my interest in business even more. (Ex: Did you know Sam's Groceria is under Mydin? Or that Adidas and Puma are actually brothers?)

Do you feel your degree has prepared you well for a career?

I feel more knowledgeable about what to do in the business field or any service line now that I've learnt so much. Before I came in, I only had the slightest knowledge and was about to put into work since I couldn't afford education but I was lucky enough to be offered a scholarship here and now I feel more confident and I can't wait to apply what I've learnt into my career in the future.

Has your degree programme helped you develop links with industry?

Very! We had a class trip to Ernst & Young and I've learnt about the way they work and not just that, I also learnt a lot through videos during lectures about how a company has developed and how important a company culture is. I also get to learn how a company operates and how the different departments in an organization work together.

How do you think your degree will impact on your career prospects?

I believe the subjects I've learnt in my degree have changed my mind-set and have taught me a lot about creativity and consistent research through the multiple assignments given. I am also learning how to speak in front of people better now and I hope I will be able to stand out during my career progression.
