In 2022 Heriot Watt has two different textile exhibitions on display within the James Watt Centre on its Edinburgh Campus. Both exhibitions can be booked and viewed together.

Colours of Klein

2022 marks the centennial of the birth of innovative Serbian born artist and textile designer Bernat Klein. Based in the Scottish Borders, his innovative approach to textile design caused a stir in the early 1960s. The University holds a extensive collection of Klein’s work including garments, fabric samples and publicity material which form the basis of this exhibition.

The exhibition is on display in the James Watt Centre, at Heriot Watt’s Edinburgh Campus from 6 October 2022 to 29 March 2023. Access is free and visitors to the University are very welcome but opening hours vary so bookings should be made in advance.
