Research culture

The Research Futures Academy supports Heriot-Watt University's research culture by inspiring the generation of research ideas, building interdisciplinary research collaborations and sharing best practice amongst peers.

Current initiatives

• Bicentennial Research Leaders Network – creation of a peer network environment for Heriot-Watt's research leaders to collaborate on interdisciplinary research ideas.
• Principal Investigators Development Programme – supporting Heriot-Watt's principal investigators and research leaders to deliver the key research aims of Strategy 2025.
• 3-Minute Thesis Competition – participation in this annual national competition enabling Heriot-Watt's PGR researchers to develop skills in communicating their research.
• Festival of Research and Enterprise – an annual event showcasing the pioneering research being undertaken at Heriot-Watt as well as highlighting the diversity of high-quality support available for our researchers.
