Programme Director of Studies, Fashion and Fashion Technology
I currently teach on the Fashion and Fashion Technology programmes, and specialise in:
- Design Process & Development - considering all aspects of the fashion design process from initial research through ideation to final garment production with an emphasis on sustainability
- Creative Pattern Cutting – the use of various pattern cutting techniques including traditional flat pattern cutting, draping on the stand, zero-waste and subtraction methods
- Garment Construction – the application and use of industrial clothing construction machinery for all types of fabrics and fibres
- Production Management – the investigation of clothing manufacturing systems
I teach various courses to both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.

Background
I am an external examiner at Glasgow Caledonian University (BA (Hons) International Fashion Management, and also at Northumbria University (MA (Hons) Global Fashion Design and MA (Hons) Global Fashion Management). I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority.
In addition to my role as an Assistant Professor, I am is a Respect Ambassador for the University and sit on various committees and working groups.
Prior to working at Heriot-Watt, I worked for 12 years as a bespoke designer, designing and making individual garments for clients from all over the world. At this time, I also launched my own independent brand that I sold through various retailers throughout the UK.
