Our students come from all over the world, balancing careers, family, and other commitments while studying with Heriot-Watt University. Through our flexible online programmes, they’ve gained new skills, advanced in their professions, and made an impact in their industries.

Edinburgh Business School (EBS)

  • Sarah Momtaz: Sarah Momtaz, from Egypt, is currently studying our online MSc in Business and Organisational Psychology while working as Head of HR and Talent Acquisition Manager at Bayer.
  • Robert Armstrong:  Robert is studying our MSc Business & Organisational Psychology while working as Co-founder and Managing Director of PAZTA and a Freelance Business Designer. He previously graduated with an MBA and BA in Business and Finance from Edinburgh Business School.
  • Dean Bowles: Dean Bowles is a Human Resources Advisor from Canada. He is currently studying our online MSc Business and Organisational Psychology.
  • Nicholas Aruho: Nicholas Aruho is a Customs Specialist from Uganda. Having completed his MBA online with Edinburgh Business School in 2021, he is now pursuing an MSc in Business Analytics.

School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society (EGIS)

  • Thierry Ndagano: Thierry Ndagano from Rwanda balanced family life and working full time as a Project Manager with his studies to complete our online MSc Construction Project Management programme.
  • Kingsley Aimufua: Kingsley graduated with an MSc Construction Project Management. He works in Coventry as a senior project planner with Optilan UK.
  • Tom Joseph Mukasa: Tom graduated from the MSc Construction Project Management programme. He works with Pearl Engineering Company Limited, a leading construction firm in Uganda.
  • Anastasia Bird: Anastasia Bird graduated from the MSc Petroleum Engineering programme. Originally from Russia, Anastasia runs her own oil and gas consultancy in Scotland.
  • Ghavam Alborzi: Ghavam graduated with an MSc Petroleum Engineering. He lives and works in London as a flow assurance lead engineer with Wood.
  • Serdar Bayramov: Serdar graduated with an MSc in Petroleum Engineering. He lives in Birmingham and works at Eni Turkmenistan as a petroleum engineering coordinator.
  • Vincent Sheppard: Vincent graduated with an MSc Petroleum Engineering. He lives in Dorset and has worked in the oil and gas industry for 34 years as a geoscientist.
  • Andrew Marshall: Andrew graduated from the MSc Real Estate Investment & Finance programme. He works as Vice President Investment Solutions with Standard Life Investments in Toronto.
  • Robert Winters: Robert Winters graduated with an MSc in Renewable Energy Development. Robert is a cost and capital allowances consultant working in the commercial property sector.
  • Alex Peridakis-Friis: Alex is in the final stages of studying his MSc in Safety and Risk Management, having just submitted his dissertation on the causes of recent 737 Max aircraft crashes.
  • Jacqueline Kahn: Jacqueline graduated with an MSc Safety and Risk Management. She has worked in property management for over three years.
  • Wonder Nyoni Wonder: Nyoni graduated with an MSc Safety and Risk Management. He works as a health, safety and environment superintendent at Freda Rebecca Gold Mine in Zimbabwe.
  • Chibuike Nwagbara: Chibuike graduated with an MSc in Safety, Risk and Reliability Engineering. He works as an HSE Supervisor Facility Management for Qatar Petroleum.
  • Jeomides Llanera: Jeomides graduated with an MSc in Safety, Risk and Reliability Engineering.
  • Linda Cottrell: Linda Cottrell graduated with an MSc in Safety, Risk and Reliability Engineering.
  • Teddy Tabanao: Teddy, from the Philippines, graduated with an MSc in Safety, Risk and Reliability Engineering.

  • Eric Ryan: Eric graduated from the MSc in Brewing & Distilling. He now works for Irish Distillers as a Distillery Operator.
