Why did you choose to study online at Heriot-Watt University?
I chose Heriot-Watt University because of its global reputation for excellence in business education, flexibility of the MBA programme through Edinburgh Business School and its emphasis on strategic, real-world learning.
Overall, how has your experience been with Heriot-Watt?
My experience has been intellectually rewarding and professionally transformative. Beyond, knowledge and various models, it has built my confidence, and sharpened my strategic thinking.
What was your favourite part of the MBA?
My favourite part of the programme was the Global Strategy Analysis module. It offered a rigorous yet highly relevant exploration of international business environments, systemic risks and strategic positioning. The integration of frameworks like PESTEL, Porters' Diamond and real-world case studies allowed me to connect theory with practical scenarios, especially in my current role working with a global EPCM company.
How did you find the learning materials?
The learning material was of a high standard, well-structured, professionally curated, and conducive to independent study. I found the pre-recorded lecture videos, reading materials, supplementary case studies, and past exam papers to be comprehensive and engaging. In particular, the Global Strategy Analysis module stood out, blending theoretical frameworks with contemporary international business cases in a way that truly enriched my understanding and applied knowledge.
How has the MBA impacted your career and personal life so far?
The MBA has been transformational professionally, has sharpened my strategic thinking, financial decision-making and leadership abilities, which I now apply daily in my role as a Field Lead Cost Engineer. Personally, it pushed me beyond my comfort zone, instilled resilience, and gave me a global perspective that has shaped how I navigate both challenges and opportunities in life and work.
