Our Global Research Institutes

iNetZ+

iNetZ+ is a dynamic global research institute based at Heriot-Watt University. Comprising a diverse team of interdisciplinary researchers, pioneering groundbreaking solutions for environmental stewardship and driving towards a carbon-neutral future.

Health & Care Technologies

The Health and Care Technologies Global Research Institute aims to expedite the advancement of research, facilitating the swift integration of new technologies. Collaborating with industry, stakeholders, fellow academics and charities.

The National Robotarium

The largest and most advanced applied research facility for robotics and artificial intelligence in the UK, opened in 2021 and has already achieved significant milestones. It is home to five resident start-up businesses, creating over 50 high-skilled jobs.

The Lyell Centre

Established in 2016, this multidisciplinary centre is addressing global challenges associated with the Earth’s surface, sub-surface, oceans and atmosphere. Research areas include: deep-sea ecology, energy capture, fisheries and seafood sustainability.
