English Gym

The English Gym is available to all Heriot-Watt University students and provides free academic English language and study skills support drop-in sessions and workshops at the Edinburgh, Dubai and Malaysia campuses, and online materials for all students.

The English Gym offers:

• One-to-one, online and in-person academic English tutorials to students who have English as an additional language, and students who use English as a first language.
• Students can self-enroll and attend any of the drop-in sessions without prior booking.
• Alternatively, students can be referred to this service by academic staff and personal tutors.
• The English Gym also delivers bespoke workshops and materials for all academic departments' requests
