HWUM Psychology Homecoming 2024

Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) Psychology Department hosted the Alumni Homecoming event on 16 April 2024 in conjunction with the HWUM Psychology Conference (HWUMPC). The event aims to foster and maintain a long-term and good relationship between the campus and the alumni and provide a platform for these alumni to contribute back to the university, which has been an important part of their life journey.

Dr Glenn Hitchman, Head of the HWUM Psychology Department, warmly welcomed everyone and gave a short speech. Then, a networking session among alumni and lecturers, accompanied by some refreshments, continued.

More than 12 Psychology alumni attended the event, filled with joy and excitement as the alumni reunited and shared their stories and career achievements.

“One of my hopes for this event is to make sure they remember Heriot-Watt as a place where they can always come back and will always be remembered, valued and appreciated. I also hope they will be a part of our students’ journey as they have gone through what our current students are going through. This is the opportunity for them to share their experiences and knowledge and give some advise on career prospects and pathways”, said Dr Glenn.

Dr Glenn added, “We plan to make this an annual event, and we hope to be able to invite our alumni back here, not only to network with each other again but also to update their knowledge about the latest research happening in this field.”
