Pay for accommodation
To secure your accommodation, you must pay a four-week advance rent payment within 48 hours of accepting your offer. Before making this payment, you must accept your accommodation offer online by logging into the accommodation portal.

Please be aware that if we do not receive your advance rent payment within 48 hours of acceptance, your offer may become invalid and could be cancelled.
By accepting your accommodation offer, you are agreeing to the rent payment terms outlined in your contract, whether paying in full or by instalments. Failure to pay rent is a breach of these terms and conditions.
Once you have enrolled, you can download the myHWU app, where you’ll find helpful guidance on your student finance account and can submit enquiries via the AskHWU tile.
Payment options
Once you have arrived and are fully enrolled, you can pay any outstanding balance of your accommodation fees either in full or by monthly instalments (recurring card) in the same way that tuition is paid.
Please note that only your Advance Rent Payment is payable through the accommodation portal, further payments are made through the online payment service.
Semester 1 only
15 Week contract - Students staying in accommodation for semester 1 only are required to pay in full.

Please sign in to our online payments service if you wish to settle your outstanding balance after your arrival on campus.

Instalment amount
The instalment value is the total accommodation contract value minus your advance rent payment, divided by the remaining number of instalments. You can set up your recurring card plans via the MyHWU app.

Parent/other third party payer
If a parent or another third party wishes to pay your fees on your behalf using a recurring card payment, you must first give them permission to access your account.
To do this, follow these steps:
- Log in to the online payment site.
- To add a parent or third-party payer, enter their email address and create a password that meets the University’s security requirements.
- Choose the type of transactions you want them to be able to view and pay for – this can include tuition fees, accommodation, or both.
- Click Add to complete the setup.
Once added, their details will appear under your list of Current Authorised Parent/Third Party Accounts. The system will automatically email them with access instructions. They’ll be able to log in via the third-party option on the payment portal using:
- Your HWU Person ID
- Their email address
- The password you created for them
You can update or remove their access at any time by logging back into the system. If needed, you can also reset their password by selecting the Remove option and re-adding them.
