Our three-year International Business Management programme puts business theory through a real-world filter, developing the specialist knowledge and interpersonal skills needed to thrive in the positions, organisations and industries of the future. 

During this accelerated degree, you will acquire crucial transferable skills including critical thinking, problem-solving, communication and team working. You will also develop creativity skills and will build on your confidence and research abilities which will help you succeed in your career and personal life.    

Through years one, two and three of this accelerated MA (Hons) International Business Management programme, you’ll gain knowledge, understanding and subject skills related to the principles and practice of modern business management. You will be provided with opportunities to explore and develop links with industry, which will prepare you for employment in a variety of management careers. 

Each course will equip you with highly employable expertise and skills across business management. Throughout this degree, you’ll have the opportunity to choose optional courses – such as talent management, project management, consumer behaviour and innovation management – to customise your learning and develop your professional interests. Your dissertation will allow you to engage in an independent in-depth critical examination of a particular business management topic, which you wish to specialise in.

Course content

September Intake - Edinburgh

Each semester you will take four courses. Some of the subjects are mandatory and must be taken as they provide fundamental knowledge and skills for the degree. Other courses are optional, and you can choose them depending on your own interest.

Please note - As this is an accelerated degree, we will not offer 4 years for the price of 3.

Entry requirements

We have standard entry requirements for all of our courses that you will have to meet.

As this is an accelerated programme, entry is only available for Year 2

  • Advanced Highers BB including one of the following: Accounting, Business, Economics or Maths plus AABB at Higher
  • A-Levels ABB including one of the following: Accountancy, Business, Economics, Maths
  • Int. Baccalaureate 34 points (including at least one of: Accountancy, Business, Economics, Maths at Higher Level 5)
  • HNC A in graded unit (Business)
  • HND BB in graded units (Business)
  • BTEC awards of DDM (Business related subjects preferred).
  • Global College Successful completion of our Business with Accelerator Programme

Please check that you meet our University-wide National 5/GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths requirements.
