ABOUT YOUR TIME AT HERIOT-WATT UNIVERSITY

Unique benefits of studying at Heriot-Watt University

HWU offers a friendly and supportive study environment. One of the standout features for me was the diversity among students and lecturers, which created a rich learning atmosphere. The lecturer-to-student ratio was excellent within my programme, and something I found quite rare compared to other universities. Plus, the campus itself is beautiful.

Any advice you would give to your younger self or students currently studying at Heriot-Watt University?

Make the most of your student life—it truly is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The memories I made during university are invaluable. Embrace every opportunity when you can, both academic and social.

Any notable memories about your time in Edinburgh?

I’m still living in Edinburgh five years after graduating, which probably says a lot about how much I love the city. It’s the perfect size—not too big, not too small—and it’s full of energy and character.

Can you sum up your time at Heriot-Watt University?

My time at HWU was incredibly formative. I gained not only the technical knowledge that supports my career today but also essential soft skills that help me navigate adult life, and which helped shape who I am today.
