Biography

Khafiz Muradov, PhD, is an associate professor of Production Technology at the Institute of GeoEnergy Engineering, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK. Previously, he worked as a senior expert in reservoir engineering and log analysis at the TNK-BP petroleum research institute.

Dr. Muradov has been co-leading multiple, international research projects related to non-isothermal well testing; and to intelligent well technologies.

Dr. Muradov has co-authored over 50 research publications; and one textbook covering all aspects of Petroleum Production Technology: from well completions to modelling, stimulation, maintenance, and management. He holds BSc and MSc in Physics from the Novosibirsk State University, and MSc and PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University. Dr. Muradov has been serving on various SPE international and technical committees; and was awarded the 2012 SPE Ferguson Medal.
