Biography
Yimin Wan is an Assistant Professor in Accountancy at the School of Social Sciences, Heriot-Watt University.
She joined the university in September 2022. She completed her PhD in Accounting and Finance at Swansea University in 2023. Her doctoral research focused on quantitative accounting, with particular emphasis on corporate governance, corporate disclosure, corporate performance, liquidity risks, and stock price crash risk. She also holds an MSc in Accounting and Finance with Distinction from Swansea University.
Yimin is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and is currently pursuing her ACCA qualification.
Background
Before moving to Heriot-Watt, she served as a Teaching Assistant at Swansea University, where she supported undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in accounting and finance.
In addition to her academic roles, she gained valuable practical experience over four years working on auditor’s translation projects, successfully translating more than 20 auditor’s reports from Chinese to English.
