Biography

Soon Min is currently the Assistant Professor and Programme Director of Studies for Civil Engineering programme in the School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society (EGIS) Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. He obtained his PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2016. Prior to that, he received his B.Eng (Hons) and M.Sc degress in Civil Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2009 and 2012, respectively.

He is a Professional Engineer (PEng) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE), a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with Engineering Council UK and a Fellow of the Advance HE (FHEA). He is also a member of both the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), and a registered Professional Technologist with the Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT).

In addition to his academic and professional credentials, Soon Min is actively involved in professional service. Since 2018, he has served as a committee member of the Geotechnical Engineering Technical Division (GETD) under IEM, contributing to the advancement of the geotechnical engineering profession in Malaysia.
