
Biography
Mudassar holds an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and has several years of industry experience across the Middle East, working on oil and gas assets in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. His work focused on the application and deployment of stimulation chemistries and production chemicals, supporting well intervention, production optimisation, and integrity-related challenges in both onshore and offshore fields.
He graduated with an MSc in Reservoir Evaluation and Management in 2015, achieving the highest overall performance in the department and receiving the BP Prize for Excellence. Since October 2015, Mudassar has been serving as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of GeoEnergy Engineering, Heriot-Watt University. He has held several academic leadership roles, including Programme Director for the MSc Reservoir Evaluation and Management from 2018 to 2020, and currently serves as the Programme Director for the MSc Petroleum Engineering programme in Dubai.
