Combining strong computer science foundations with specialist artificial intelligence expertise, this MSc is designed to help you develop the technical, analytical and problem-solving skills needed to design intelligent systems, evaluate emerging technologies and solve complex real-world challenges.
The programme consists of seven core courses, an Industry Specialisation Certificate and a Capstone Project (180 credits). - Programming and Program Design - build a solid understanding of core programming concepts while providing hands-on experience in applying these techniques to solve real-world problems. Develop a strong grasp of programming best practices, equipping you with the skills to write efficient, reliable, and maintainable code across a variety of applications. Don't have a traditional computer science background? This course can be your route into the MSc. Through our Performance-Based Admissions pathway, successfully passing Programming and Program Design demonstrates your readiness for master's-level study and enables you to progress onto the full degree. - Mathematics for Computer Science - develop a strong foundation in the mathematical principles underlying computer science, from digital logic and design to key problem-solving techniques. Explore both theoretical concepts and their practical applications, developing the skills to apply mathematics effectively in analysing, modelling, and solving complex computational challenges.
- Data Structures and Algorithms - build a deep, critical understanding of data structures and algorithms, with the knowledge to analyse and optimise computational processes. - Machine Learning Engineering and MLOps - Learn how to take machine learning projects from development to deployment at scale. In this course, you'll explore the tools, processes and engineering practices used to build, automate and manage production-ready machine learning systems. A flexible route into postgraduate study
Our Performance-Based Admissions (PBA) pathway offers a flexible route into the MSc Computer Science with specialism in Artificial Intelligence, allowing you to demonstrate your ability through study rather than relying solely on traditional entry requirements.
To qualify through the PBA pathway, you'll enrol on the first course of the degree: Programming and Program Design. Successfully complete and pass the course, and you'll be eligible to progress onto the full MSc, with the credits you've already earned counting towards your degree.
Whether you're returning to education, changing careers or don't meet the standard academic entry requirements, PBA provides an accessible route into postgraduate study.
