Biography

Dr. Abrar Ullah has been working as an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Heriot-Watt University (Dubai) since 2019. He earned his PhD in Security and Usability from the University of Hertfordshire, UK. With over 25 years of combined industry and academic experience, Abrar has extensive expertise in teaching and enterprise system development. He began his teaching career in 2002 as a lecturer at the University of Peshawar and the Provincial Health Services Academy in Peshawar.

In 2008, Abrar joined ABMU NHS in the UK as a Lead Developer, contributing to several critical NHS systems. In 2011, he moved to Cardiff University as Team Lead & Senior Systems Analyst within Professional Services, where he led multiple successful strategic and national-level projects. During this time, he also lectured in Digital Media Design at the School of Medicine. In 2017, Abrar became a lecturer at the School of Management and Computer Science at Cardiff Metropolitan University, while simultaneously serving as Lead Developer at NHS Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) until 2019.
