Entry requirements

We have standard entry requirements for all of our courses that you will have to meet.

Year 1
  • Heriot-Watt University Malaysia Foundation in Business or Science: Grade C average
  • A-Level: CCC
  • STPM: GPA 2.33 Grade C+ in any 2 subjects
  • UEC: Maximum 26 points including a B6 in UEC Mathematics and B4 in UEC English (5 subjects not less than B grade)
  • IB Diploma: 27 points for 6 subjects
  • WACE/SACE: ATAR 65
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma: 65% (average score based on 6 best Grade 12 relevant subjects including English)
  • Foundation: CGPA 2.5
  • China Senior High School Graduation Certificate: 70% including 60% in Mathematics
  • India Senior School Certificate/Class XII : 70% including C in Year 10 Maths
  • Indonesia SMA 3: 66% including C in Year 10 Maths
Additional information

Note: In addition to the entry requirements listed above, applicants must have grade C in Mathematics at SPM/ IGCSE level or equivalent. This requirement can be waived if applicants have obtained at least grade pass in Mathematics at a higher level.

English language requirements

If your first language is not English, we'll need to see evidence of your English language ability.

The minimum English language requirement for entry to this programme is IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) with no score lower than 5.5.

If you do not have IELTS 6.0, we offer a range of English language courses to help you meet the English language requirement for this programme prior to commencing your studies.
